Liberal arts majors

Only a few people knows something about liberal arts. For most of us, this concept means nothing. So here is introduction. Liberal arts are something like educational system in classical antiquity. Made up with several subjects and skills which were considered essential for everyone. Some people say that Liberal arts were absolutely required to exists in society and public life. Liberal arts were divided into seven subjects. There were three Liberal arts majors called Trivium – Grammar, Logic and Rhetoric. These ones were the most important. The other four are arithmetic, geometry music and astronomy. Without the doubt, current education is based on achievements of predecessors. In fact, nowadays subjects connected with liberal arts majors like grammar, logic and rhetoric. Grammar is used in every school for native languages. Learning own language is definitely base to understand every other science. Logic is used mainly in mathematic. Some of the tasks and calculations require logical thinking.  Rhetoric is not so important nowadays. This is mainly directed for politicians. Rhetoric is the art of discourse, an art that aims to improve the facility of speakers and teaches how to persuade some information. It’s hard to disagree that in today’s world that subject is not so important as for example physic or mathematic. It’s also hard to disagree that all education systems are based on liberal arts. Other subjects from liberal arts: arithmetic, geometry music and astronomy were marked as these less important. Today we know, that arithmetic and geometry are simply called mathematic, and mathematic is a queen of the science. Without mathematic, today’s world wouldn’t be the same. What is interesting, in US there are liberal arts colleges with graduating title of Bachelor of Arts. It may be strange and for sure this is strange. Modern people are playing like they were in ancient times. Beside the fact that it won’t grant any benefits this is just crazy. It might function as a funny, additional thing but not as a serious school. But leave that, in US there is a lot of strange things. Astronomy – this one is connected with math, physics, chemistry and geography. Astronomy works for today and for sure this is the most mysterious science. It learn about the universe, which really is still  a big riddle for humans. In the end we have music. Music is mentioned at the end however world without music would be unimaginable. Music is always something more. Affects on our feeling, moods, euphoria etc. To sum up we can say, that whole liberal arts were needed to create today’s picture of the world. Almost everything what we see, created by human hands is possible because in the past, someone discovered many corrections titled as a mathematic, physic etc. As historians says, Liberal arts as a educating program was really successfully and delivered a lot of great minds to whom we owe theories and science laws.
